The first step is write your “To Do List”. I use a To Do List every time I plan an event, also for a small dinner with few friends. It is a simple tool to manage all the things to do, to have a view of what need to buy and is an excellent way to manage stress. Without a complete To Do List the risk to spent a bunch of money and waste time is really big!

“To Do List” for no mistake

  1. Choose the party theme todolist
  2. Write the invitations cards
  3. Choose the games
  4. Decoration of your house
  5. Choose an appropriate music
  6. The dinner menu
  7. Make a gift for your guests.

Ok…. now you have a simple list…. let’s start

Party’s Theme

Is the starting point for manage all the preparations. Is it costume party or a simple dinner with a gothci atmosphere? imgstrega23The topic of the party is really important and all guests must know it. It could be generically Halloween and in this way your guests haven’t any particular dress code, they need only an appropriate costume for the occasion. The partys I prefer are those with a specific theme. In this occasion fantasy help us and also TV and Movies are big help! During the last few years I love planning parties with specific topic. The theme could be particular but at the same time it should be easy to manage by your guests according to their tastes and their style. Here some good example of amazing draculaHalloween Party Theme: Tim Burton’s movies; Vampires across the centuries from Dracula to Twilight’s Vampires; Classics characters like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Phantom of the Opera; Horror movies of 90s like Nightmare, Scream, IT, Child’s Play; characters of cult movie like Kubrick, Argento or Hitchcock movies. I can’t forget the evergreen: ZOMBIES from Romero to The Walking Dead. The party’s theme is really important, but the most important things are the details and the passion during the planning of the event. With these ingredients we can manage an amazing and never seen before Halloween

Invitations cards

il_570xN.387892278_7ojhAfter writing a list of funny friends to invite, you have to make a special invitations card and sent these some week before the party (at least 2 weeks before). The invitations Cards must fit with the party theme Paper made or eMail doesn’t matter, they have to be personalized. Little pumpkins or tiny paper coffin or an eMail with a scary background and disturbing sounds and screams. I think that including a tiny gadget in your invitation card is a pretty wonderful idea: something really little like a rubber spider or vampire’s teeths. Something that scare the recipient and that advance to him what could happen in your party!

Choose the games

It is good have some games to play after dinner. You can watch some horror movies with photo-51popcorn and drinks in scary containers, or relate horror storys. You can play a childwood games like treasure hunt (or Witches’s hunt). You can also revisiting some classic games like Pictionary . Is a pretty good idea personalize Pictionary’s categories for the party for example in Yellow Category: dark people and scenes of crimes; in the Blue one: mystery and occult objects; Orange category: criminal and creepy acts; and in Green category: horror books and movies and really facts happened. One other funny and classic game is Taboo, also for this game you can choose scary and horror words according to party theme.

In the next post I tell you about the other voices of the list especially the house decorations and atmosphere and the dinner.
