Wedding agenda (first part)

Summer is the perfect weddings’ season… If you plan to have your wedding next year, it’s time to start to plan it! Although it is true that is never too early to start thinking about our wedding, it is true as well that if you make a good agenda for it, planning your wedding will be a pleasure and it will be absolutely amusing!bridal panic

Even though the brides we see in the movies are completely stressed and out of control, you can easily manage your “bridal stress” with a careful planning of all the aspects to manage. All you need is a good agenda and a good to do list. The only difficulty is figuring out all the things you need to put in your list. When you have the complete to do list, you can easily scheduled all the things in a well planned agenda and that’s it!

I know what I just said because I passed through the same past year! Thank to my personal experience and also thank to my studies about this absolutely interesting topic (yes I bought some books about wedding planning because I love this world), and thanks my experiences in helping a lot of my friends in planning their own wedding, I became a little experienced in planning a proper agenda for a perfect wedding. In the today’s post, I’m gonna show you all my knowledge about wedding and, most important, the best planning for manage the wedding day without stress! As someone said: It will be easy if you know how doing it!

Bridal’s agenda (first part)

The first thing I did was find the best agenda for me. I used a traditional agenda and also an application for my phone, for keeping track of the things to do and when and for updating constantly and everywhere the things that I had already done.

One year early

The very first step is choose a date! I suggest to think about a range of possible dates, in this way you will have more option to find free the locations. After deciding the date you can move on and think about the places! You have to decide the place for the celebration (church or other place) and also the place for the party. I suggest to think about 3/4 options for both location and celebration place, thus if one is not available for the date you choose you can quickly move to another one.

 

When you choose the place for your wedding party you need to visit by yourself each place and make a lot of questions in order to understand if the place fitting your needs and take notes about the place and the answers (There is enough space for all your guests? what are the facilities? Have you manage wedding before? There are any restriction in term of hours for the party? There are any restriction for playing music?….) During the visit remember to ask for a standard estimate for have an economical idea for each locations visited.

The catering is another key point. Some locations have their own catering some other haven’t. Also for the catering you should contact more than one supplier, ask to each one an estimate, ask to try some dishes and make a lot of question as well. If it is possible, it could be useful to check on the web some reviews for the location and the catering services. Remember to ask about the wedding cake! Some catering supplier can make it by themselves, but you can (or must, if the catering provider don’t provide the cake) choose a different provider.

In this phase the web could be very helpful! You can use it for finding locations, for reading reviews and also for having some ideas from other brides or from professionists.

Eight – Six Months Earlier

It is time to start to figure out all the documentation you need. But it also time to decide the list of the guests, and this task it isn’t really easy at all! When you have the full list of the guests you can also have an idea of the dimension of your wedding and of the maximum number of guest to attend. You really need this number for have an estimation for the price of the dinner.

in this timeframe the brides often start to look for their dress. Keep yourself update with papers and magazines about the new collections and ask to your favorites atelier when the new collections will be delivered and book an appointment in these days in order to have much choice as possible.

Four Three Months Earlier

You have all the key points: the date, the place for the celebration, the location for the party and the dress. You can move on towards the other related aspects: floral designer, photographer and video maker.

As usual try to find more option to keep in touch and ask if they are specialized in wedding. Book an appointment with each provider and talk about your budget and your preferences, take notes and ask for an estimate. Another important thing to ask is to show you their portfolio (previous weddings, their works…). When you have all the info for 3/4 providers for each category, you are able to choose who fit better you needs.

Floral designer: you should explain  your idea and the style you want to reproduce in your wedding. It is important to know what you want, but it is also important to listen carefully the suggestions the designer gives to you, for example, regarding the type of flower to choose based on the season and the place. You should build together your own design that will be unique, like you and your wedding. If the floral designer doesn’t already know the locations of your wedding, you should go with him for a visit, for evaluating the spaces and the colors before build the final project. Remember there are not only the flowers for the celebration place and for the party’s location, you should think also about the bridal bouquet, the groom’s flower, the bride’s father and the best men flowers, the bridesmaid’s flowers, the  decoration for the groom and bride’s parents houses and at last but not least the decoration for the bride’s car.

If you are here, great job you are in a good point of you way for the wedding! But I really don’t want that this post will be too long (an maybe boring), so for the second part of the perfect “no stress” wedding timing you have to wait a couple of week!
