today is Sunday and, like usual I’m going to talk about food. But today I’m going to do it slightly different way than usual… I’m going to talk about the best places in New York City where you can eat the best burgers and hot dogs.

Today I’m going to talk about junk food. I’ll talk about the best:

Hamburger – Cheeseburger – Steakburger – Hot Dog

I’m a real junk food lover and for this reason I love trying different places and figuring out where I can eat the best junk food. After a long search, I acquired a bit of experience in this and I’m ready for suggest you the places where you can eat the best burgers.

Best Hot Dogs @ Nathan’s Famous, Coney Island

Finding an hot dog in New York city is really a simple mission, but for eating the best hot dog you should go at Coney Island. There are a ton of food cart that offer good hot dogs at each corner, but when you try the Nathan’s famous ‘hot dog, you don’t want to go back!

Nathan makes amazing hot dogs from 1916 and, although the menu offers a lot of choice, it is famous especially for the hot dog and for its hot dog eating contest during the year.

You can enrich your classic hot dog with a lot of sauces available at the self services station close to the tables, but I suggest to try the special hot dog like the chili hot dog, the cheese dog and my favorite, the bacon cheese hot dog, it is absolutely awesome! You should try also the french fries available in different options.

My usual menu is: Bacon Cheese Dog + Bacon Cheese Fries + Lemonade.

FYI (for your information) the Nathan’s base is at 310 Surf Avenue a Coney Island, but there are a lot of little Nathan’s spots along the seafront and also inside the luna park. The Location is pretty amazing especially in summer time and in addition to the beaches and the amusement park, Nathan’s famous is also few steps far to the New York Aquarium. Directions: you should take the orange line ( D and F trains) or the yellow line (N and Q trains).

Best Hamburger e Cheeseburger @ Shake Shack

Shake Shack is a franchise of “fast casual restaurant” dispersed everywhere in the city(especially in Manhattan but also in Brooklyn and Queens). The first Shake Shack restaurant opened in 2000 at Madison Square Park, and this is my favorite location also because it is really close to the Flatiron Building.

Shake Shack is famous for the quality of the meat (no hormones and 100% organic) but also for the special way in which it advises the customers when the order is ready. Indeed when you order the cashier gives to you a device, when your order is ready the device starting to lightning and shaking and this is the signal for your burger.

SHake Shack’s menu offers a lot of options, my usual menu is: Double Smoke Shake Burger + Cheese Fries + Lemonade + VAnilla Milk Shake. why this burger are so special? It is due not only to the meat, nether only to the crunchy bacon or the hot peppers, it is due to the special secret sauce: smoke shake sauce that is simply amazing! In Shake Shack restaurant as well are available some stations for napkins and free sauces.

Best Steak Burger @ Heartland Brewery inside the Empire State Building.

The steak burger is a burger in which instead of the ground beef you have a real steak. You can find the best steak burger at Heartland Brewery, that is a real restaurant with servers. It is located in the base and the basement of the Empire State Building and it has delicious vintage design. There are also other locations in Midtown Manhattan , but the one at Empire State Building is the best. The restaurant is famous also for the pretty large selection of craft beers. My usual menu is composed by: Romano Crusted Mozzarella Sticks + Onion Ring + New York Strip Steak Burger ( or Smoked Pulled Pork) + Red Rooster Ale (an amazing craft beer).

There is an urban legend that talk about a secret door, inside the lower level of the restaurant, that conduits directly inside the lobby of the Empire State Building. Unfortunately although I went to the restaurant often I never found this door.

These are the places that I love and that I suggest to all my friends who want to try the best burgers and hot dogs in New York.
