The Easier Dessert That I Know

Hello Friends!

As usual on sunday I’ll talk about food. I’m not a great cook, but I really enjoy cooking and experimenting new recipes. When my results are good I share here my recipes. If you read my previous posts you know that the things that I make better are cakes and desserts. I was not a good cook, actually I was good only in pre cooked dishes… but few years ago I decide that I should try to cook real dishes and starting from this time, cooking became one of my passions, especially baking and dessert preparations.

When the summer is coming, for me is time to cold dessert like crém caramel, panna cotta, cheesecakes and yogurt cakes as well. I love these kind of desserts and I used to buy the “ready made” version of them like the one in the pics below.

When I realized how easy is to prepare desserts like panna cotta, things started to change and I never buy again a “ready made” dessert again.

The panna cotta is my best dessert for all situation in which i want something quickly and easy to prepare, that everybody love and that I can prepare without the oven. It is super easy to prepare and you have to know how make it! In addition the panna cotta home made has a way better taste that the “ready made” one and also the ingredients are, of course, better and healthier.

Let’s See How I Made My Panna Cotta

Ingredienti for 8 portions of almost 50 gr each

Time to prepare and to cook 15 minutes – time to rest and cool down 4 hours.Ingredients

  • 500 ml of heavy cream;
  • 150 gr of sugar;
  • 15 gr of gelatin;
  • vanilla extract.

Useful Tools

  • Pot;
  • Spoon or whisk

Procedure

For the first step, i pt the heavy cream in a pot, I added the vanilla extract and the sugar, i put it on the stove (gently flame) and I mixed everything carefully until all the ingredients are well melted. I cook for almost 10 minutes but I paid attention to not arrive at boiled point.

I turned off the stove and I added the gelatin and I mixed also this ingredients. When everything is completely melted i poured my cream in the containers and I let cool for a while. When it is pretty cold I put everything in the fridge for at least 4 hours (all night long should be way better).

I served the panna cotta cold, and eventually I put on the top some jelly, caramel or fresh fruits sliced for decorating.

Here some of my panna cottas.

If you are looking for a easy presentation you can use a kind of plastic or metal mold and when the dessert is completely cold you can overturned the into the plate. I often prepared the panna cotta directly inside my most beautiful tea cups,panna cotta oblique or tiny jars and my guests will eat there the dessert. A very beautiful an uncommon way to serve it is the oblique way. I put the panna cotta inside a glass and i put the glass in the fridge slightly inclined, in this way the panna cotta solidifies in oblique way. When it is completely solidified, I add some sliced fruit (like the picture shows).

This is the easier dessert I know. What do you think about this recipe?
