Halloween is coming and although this year I have less time to focus my mind completely on Halloween, I made some easy halloween decoration for my apartment. My key word for this specific time of my life is do it quickly and easily!

Let’s see what I’ve done

Hand candle holder

My first project was inspired to the famous hand of Addams family.I

For making this project you need:

• Gypsum and water (choose the gypsum which not need oven for drying);
• Latex glove;
• A couple of bowl;
• Few fake spiders.

I put one part of gypsum and two part of water in a bowl and I mixed them quickly. I put the mixture inside the latex glove, I closed carefully it and I put the filled glove in a second bowl I made it because in this way the hand take the proper shape. After few minutes I put a little candle in the middle of the hand for making a candle base.

When the hand is completely dry (I let it cool down all night long but 4 hour are enough) I peeled off the latex glove. If you like it you can decorate the hand with paint. Due to my pregnancy I choose to not use spray paint.

Here my result settle down with few fake spiders for a perfect Halloween.

The hand of mummy

My second project as well is inspired to another hand: a mummy hand. For this hand you need:

• Masking tape;
• Scissors;
• Drinking straw;
• Some lights (you can also use Christmas Tree lights as well);
• A real hand and some hand cream.

For making my mummy hand I simply and carefully covered my real hand and my fingers with the tape leaving a little space between the hand and the tape using a drinking straw. Before covering the hand I put on it some drops of hand cream, in this way the tape stick fewer. When I’ve done I removed the straw and I cut with the scissor the tape. I carefully removed the hand and i close the incision with some tape. That’s all the hand was finished, I only put a couple of electric candles inside the hand.

Trick: if you have a vase with some ground you can put the hand on it for a scared and suggestive Halloween effect.

If you are looking for a decoration inspired to the autumn, but you don’t want something “too much Halloween inspired”, following you can figured out a elegant option for you home decorations.

Autumn inspired decoration

I started with creating my gypsum pumpkins. For making them you need:

• Gypsum and water;
• A old pantyhose;
• Few rubber bands;
• A bowl;
• Colors.

At the beginning I cut the final part of my pantyhose, after that I started mixing one part of gypsum with two part of water, and I mixed them until the composite was homogeneous. I put the mixture inside the pantyhose and when I had a kind of ball big enough I made a knot just on the top of the gypsum ball. I put some rubber bands for simulating the pumpkin fold. I let my two pumpkin dry for 4/5 hours.

When my pumpkins were completely dry I pulled off the rubber bands end the pantyhose as well and I colored them.Trick for this project: if you can use a very thin pantyhose you can leave it on the gypsum, colored it and use the knot like the green part of the pumpkin.

For finishing my elegant decoration I collected some stuff I had at home:

• Cardboard for a base;
• Pine cones;
• Some leaves;
• A candle;
• Hot glue.

The procedure is really simple: I only assembled the stuff according to my personal tastes. At the end I added my electric candle.

Maybe this decoration doesn’t fit perfectly with Halloween Theme, by the way I think it is perfect for a elegant Halloween dinner (Here you can figured out a perfect menu for this kind of dinner).

I really love this last decoration and I plan to use it for next months.
