DIY Party Favor For My Baby Girl

Hello friends!

In few days my lovely girl will be here and in these days at home I decided to make something dedicated to her. I decided to make my personal favor box for the birth for donating them to all our friends who will visited us.

Let’s see what I’ve done!

The main idea is to make tiny bag with a little heart made in gypsum on it.

This is what you need for 50 bags:

  • A box of 1 KG of sugared almonds (bought on Amazon for € 13,50 )
  • 50 bags 7 x 9 cm white or colored (bought on Amazon for € 6,12 )
  • White gypsum (the one who dry without oven) (bought on Amazon 3 Kg for 13,70 €);
  • Colored ribbon (2 x 1,20 €);
  • Silicon mold (bought online for 3 €);
  • Food coloring (option) (2,50 € at drugstore);
  • Essential oil (option) (1,90 € at drugstore);
  • Water;
  • Hot glue.

The procedure is really easy

I started with the chalk: I melted one part of gypsum with two part of water. If your mold are tiny like mine, I suggest to use small amount of gypsum for avoiding the mixture to becoming hard. I added few drops of food coloring and few drops of essential oil.

The most important thing is to melt he ingredients very quickly. I pour the mixture in the mold. I let them dry, it required almost one hour. After 15 minutes i made a little hole behind the heart with a toothpick.

I made all my 50 hearts, I inserted the ribbon through the hole and I made a small bow.

I put a couple of drop of hot glue behind the heart and I pated a heart on each bags. For avoiding the two sides of the bag to stick together I put a piece of parchment paper inside the bag and I remove it after a couple of minutes (when the glue is dried).

I put 5 sugared almonds in the bags and I closed them (remember you should insert always an odd number of sugared almonds inside your bags).

My party favors were ready! I put them in a cake stand (bought on amazon for 8,67 €) so I can have them close to me when my friends will come for visiting us.

Each party favor cost less than 85 cents of Euros, a lot of fun and satisfaction.

For those of you who have no time for making the party favors by yourself, you can figured out some good and cheap ideas online.

It’s all for today….
