Christmas is just around the corner, we must wait less than a week! It’s a actually magic time, joy is in the air and one of the most important things is: make a gifts to people we love! I love to buy or to make agifts for people I love. Actually I think that is better give a gift instead getting one… The presents are really important, their value is huge and is more than the value of the thing we give, the real value include also all the time that we decide to spend for a gift. Gifts are thoughts: when we chose a present for people we love we think about it for very long time; we look for the perfect  gift we hope that the recepient will say “wow”;  Gifts are research: we spend a lot of time to find something really special. Gifts are attention to detail: because when we finally found the perfect present we spend a lot of time to wrap it in the best way possible!

 I’m pretty sure about the hidden value of a gift, and if you really think about a specific person, his tastes, passions and what he love, you’ll buy the perfect gift for him. But sometime it could be a little bit difficult find a good gift and some advices and suggestions could be great! For example when you have to buy a gift for a person you don’t know very well! It is also possible the totally different case: you know really well the person, but you have already given to him pretty much everything and you don’t have any other original ideas! If you need some original idea this is the right place to find one of it!

• DIY Presents

If you are good in something, for example in knitting, this is your chance to use your ability! A DIY present, maybe a scarf in wool, will be perfect for a person you love: you can customize your gift based on the passions and the tastes of the recipient. In this case he/she definitely will see how much time and love you spent for the gift and he will appreciate it a lot! A DIY present is a goal idea also for person you don’t know well: it could be an occasion to show a secret side of you and last, but not least, DIY idea are cheaper and low budget presents!

• Food Baskets

Food is one of the best ideas ever! And everyone will appreciate a basket with food! If you decide to give someone this kind of gift, pay attention about 2 things: 1) Please DO NOT GIVE a basket whit Panettone and Champagne (really similar to the box that your boss give to you!); 2) Basket’s dimension: is important to choose the correct dimension of the basket, we want that our basket appears very full, a big basket with few items is a terrible idea! You can choose local or esotic products, we can have Sweet baskets with creams, chocolate, sweets and some special marmalades; we can also choose fresh and dried fruits. I really love the baskets with cheese and cured meat they are awesome! We can choose also cheese and specific honey that fit perfectly together. At the end we can also give a “Veggie Basket” full of specific products for vegetarian and vegan friends!

• Smart Box – Gift Car

I really like the Smart Boxes  for a huge amount of reasons: there are amazing “packages” for pretty much everything (travel, dinner, wellness center, cultural and sportive events and activities…), the recipient can choose between a lot of options, the expiration date is often over an year (1 or two years renewable), the recipient could extend the benefits of the “package”with additional payments, there is a “package” for any budget! Smart boxes are definitely amazing ideas! If you are not convinced of a smart box, you can chose a Gift Card.  A gift card is a sort of “coupon” to use in particular store online (like Amazon, Apple Store and Google Play Store) or offline (like Macy’s, Sephora, Victoria Secrets…). Sometime a gift card could be spent for some specific services, like a manicure or a massage, in some wellness and beauty centers.

• Dulcis in fundo

This is my favorite and original idea for this Christmas! Customized pralines! I was surfing into the web for some idea in M&M’s site. I know that you can print some personalized words on the M&M’s, but now there is an amazing new:you can print also a picture on them! It is definitely the coolest idea ever! It’s really easy to do it: 1) You choose the color of your M&M’s; 2) You upload a picture to print on one side of them; 3) You choose a text to print on the other side of M&M’s; 4) When you are completely satisfied, choose the packaging and that’s it! All Done! The ordinary shipping time are not really fast, but you can pay some additional dollar and choose a express shipping.

These are some of mine gift ideas for this Christmas, I hope you find this post helpful and inspiring. As I say above , the real value of a present is composed by at least 2 components: the gift and its hidden value like passion and time dedicated to it …. but… if you really don’t like a present you received.. there is only a solution: recycle it for someone else the next Christmas! In this case, pay attention next Christmas to not give the gift at the same person who give it you this year!
