Here we are with a new Travel’s note! Today I’m going to show you my personal experience in one of the most particular museums of New York City that everyone loves, kids and adults! This museum is composed by an aircraft carrier, with a specific pavilion about
the space where you can see a space shuttle. Close to the aircraft carrier you can also see a Concorde and last but not least a missile submarine. Welcome to the Intrepid Sea & Space Museum!

Some useful information about the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space museum!
The museum was founded in 1982 by the purchase of the USS INtrepid. l museo è stato fondato nel 1982 con l’acquisto della portaerei USS Intrepid, which served tour of duty during the World War II and during the Vietnam War as well. On the vessel is hosted a specific pavilion dedicated to the space in which is located the Space SHuttle Enterprise. For completing the air exhibition was added the faster passenger aircraft: the British Airway Concord. Talking about see, close to th vessel you can see, and visit, the Growler, the only american diesel-powered strategic missile submarine open to the public.
Directions
Intrepid is in Hell’s Kitchen @ Pier 46, West 45 & 12th Avenue. You can use several subway lines for arriving: Red lines 1 2 3 to Time Square, blue lines A C E to Port Authority Bus Terminal, and yellow lines N Q R S to Time Square&Brodway and walking in nort west direction. You can also use some busses. The bus M50 drops you directly n front of the museum.
Time and Prices
Fom 1st April to 31st October
Monday – Friday 10.00 am – 5.00 pm – Saturday and Sunday 10.00 am – 6.00 am
From 1st November to 31st March
Every day (holidays included) 10.00 am – 5.00 pm.
The tickets cost $ 24.00 for general admission (visit to Intrepid vessel, Growler submarine and Concorde) if you want to see also the space pavilion the price rises to $ 31.00.

Although I visited the museum with other adults and all of us really enjoy so much the visit, I think that this museum could be in the top 3 attractions in new York City that kids will love (Bronx zoo – American Museum of Natural History – Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum) . By the way, if you plan a visit in New York city and you have enough time, I suggest to spend a couple of hours in this uncommon museum!
